Significant others…

I would be lost without my husband…

Most days I sit patiently waiting watching the clock tick as the minute hand slowly makes it way to 4:30pm…

Why 4:30?… That is the time my husband makes his grand appearance through the door after a hard days work.

I look forward to 4:30 everyday for a couple of main reasons…

  1. I have an amazing husband who I consider my best friend. Talking to him at the end of a long day with our son is truly something to savour and enjoy. The first hug when he walks through the door is a tight warm squeeze that takes the weight off my shoulders with a long breath in and out.
  2. Daddy time! When my husband gets home he is always super excited to spend every moment he can with our son. He handles everything from diaper changes to bath time. Not only is this a load off my shoulders but its super sexy to see the man I love care for our child while I enjoy a glass of wine.
  3. Adult time – we all enjoy a bit of romance time and again and with a new baby you sneak it in when you can.
  4. Me time! Having my husband take care of Oliver gives me time to clean up, cook us a meal and get a load of laundry in and sometimes I even have time for a bath with scented candles…  Now I’m not Samantha from bewitched but I’m doing the best I can.

He keeps me on my toes…

My husband is always thinking of me and he shows it in little ways that truly make me smile. There are days where I’m on the verge of tears and he will offer to go out to grab supper and show up with a bouquet of flowers and extra cheese burger just to make me smile.

He has been incredibly supportive throughout my pregnancy and postpartum not only emotionally but mentally. He keeps my sanity grounded and ensures I do not run myself into too deep of water… He truly is my lifesaver in the ocean of my life. With every new wave we break together it is a victory in our parenting book along side our relationship book.

Just wants to see me smile…

Somedays he does everything he can just to make me smile – now ladies this is a challenge if I’m… “moody”. Even on my poutiest of days he will crack the funniest jokes, say the sweetest things and complement me until I believe what he says. He loves to make me feel special and loved – probably why I married him…

Reminds me I that I am beautiful…

Everyday my husband tells me that I am beautiful, either vocally, via text or on a snap. Not only does this make my heart skip a beat and create those corny high school butterflies in my stomach but it also strengthens my love for him. The fact that he goes out of his way daily to tell me those 3 words is something I cherish deeply.

Looking forward to what is ahead…

The new experiences we are sharing as first time parents is a journey I look forward to conquering forever with a united front. Thank you for being my team mate, best friend and soul mate.

Cheers.
